Laropal® Pigment Dispersion Platform

From Solvent‑Based to Energy‑Curable Systems

Laropal A‑81 is BASF’s core grinding resin platform, delivering proven pigment wetting and dispersion performance across a range of solvent‑based coating and ink applications. Its versatile aldehyde resin chemistry serves as the foundation for multiple optimized delivery formats – Laropal 855 S, 860 X, and 863 M – each designed to meet different processing needs, viscosity targets, and workflow preferences while maintaining consistent A‑81 performance. Together, the Laropal A‑81 family gives formulators flexibility to balance efficiency, rheology, and ease of use without compromising dispersion quality.

To complement the Laropal A‑81 platform, Laromer PR 9013 extends BASF’s dispersion portfolio into energy‑curable systems. This unsaturated, modified dispersing oligomer is designed for UV‑ and EB‑curable pigment concentrates, inks, and coatings, providing efficient pigment wetting and dispersion while actively participating in curing through its acrylate functionality.

Together, the Laropal and Laromer® portfolios give formulators reliable, application‑specific options across solvent‑based and energy‑curable dispersion technologies.
