BASF in Denmark
BASF has been a local partner to Danish industry since 1950. BASF A/S, our operating company in Denmark, connects customers with BASF’s broad portfolio, scientific and technical expertise, and European network. Our activities support customers across important sectors including agriculture, nutrition and pharma, construction and consumer goods.
As part of the BASF Group, we combine local market knowledge with access to global know-how. This enables us to work closely with customers and partners in Denmark while drawing on the strength of BASF companies across Europe.
We have two locations in Denmark: our head office in Copenhagen and our production site in Ballerup.
Copenhagen
Our Copenhagen office is the Danish head office of BASF A/S and a central hub for administration, sales and customer collaboration. Located at Kalvebod Brygge, the office brings together several BASF business areas and supports activities across Denmark and the Nordic/Baltic region.
It is also home to BTC Europe’s Nordic and Baltic headquarters and BASF Agricultural Solutions.

BTC Europe
BTC Europe GmbH is BASF's European sales organization for small and medium-sized customers. The product portfolio includes high-quality specialty chemicals from BASF and selected products from other manufacturers.
BASF A/S serves as BTC Europe’s local distribution partner for customers in Denmark. Copenhagen is also home to BTC Europe’s Nordic and Baltic headquarters.
We provide sales, technical support, order processing, and customer service tailored to the local market. At the same time, our close collaboration with BASF gives customers access to globally developed products and technologies, backed by the expertise, reliability, and continuity of one of the world's leading chemical companies.
Ballerup
The Ballerup manufacturing site specializes in microencapsulated formulations of vitamins A, E, D, K, and B, as well as carotenoids, mainly for the beverage, food, and pharmaceutical industries.
Our production site complies with the food, feed and pharma regulations. At regular intervals the site is inspected by the public authorities.
The production site in Ballerup was founded in 1920 and has over the years through constant innovations created a process of manufacture, which is unique.
As part of BASF’s global production network, Ballerup combines specialized formulation know-how with a strong focus on safety, quality and responsible production. BASF continues to invest in and develop the facilities in Denmark.
Around 140 people are based at the Ballerup site and covers also functions such as safety and quality management, project management, logistics, controlling and HR.
