The understanding of science is an integral part of BASF contribution to the society in which we operate. It is in this regard, that in collaboration with the Kilifi County Government, we hosted over 200 students from Majaoni primary and Dabaso primary schools for the BASF Kids’ Lab. The students from grades five and six were offered an opportunity to explore the magic of chemistry at the highly interactive Clever Foodies program where they got to test for Vitamin C in food items that they regularly interact with. The children were also sensitized about the importance of vitamin C found in fruits and vegetables, for their health and development

In attendance was Shollay Ramlaul, Managing Director and Country Cluster Head, BASF East Africa, the Deputy Governor of Kilifi County, Hon. Flora Betsa Chibule, and senior officials from the Kilifi department of Education and ICT.

BASF conducts these experiments in a safe environment with the aim of teaching nutrition facts to children and helping them to make positive changes in their dietary habits.
