Diani in Kenya, being a leading tourist destination, was the perfect setting for the BASF East Africa starting ventures project – In Vessel Decentralized Composting. In collaboration with Terra-Safi Waste Recovery Solutions Ltd, BASF aims to support the regions’ waste management infrastructure. The facility will enable the collection and composting of organic waste to create compost that will be used to enhance soil fertility and in effect improve food security by boosting crop production.

Various stakeholders participated in the awareness session for the project that was held in Diani. We look forward to working with these stakeholders in order ensure the benefits foreseen for the project which include job creation, clean environment, and technology transfer.

BASF Starting Ventures supports solutions that empower communities in which we operate to have a better quality of life.
